phloroglucinol (1,3, 5-trihydroxybenzene) is an important fine chemical product, intermediates mainly used in the synthesis of drugs, such as flavonoids. 
Appearance: White to light yellowish crystal
Usually with two molecules of crystal water ([6099-90-7]), at 110 °c into anhydrous. Dissolve in 100 parts of water, 10 parts of ethanol, 0.5 parts of pyridine. Soluble in ether. Partial decomposition during sublimation, see light discoloration. Sweet.
